Best time to book a Sundarban Package Tour :
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sundarban is open to all tourists throughout the year.
Getting through Sundarban from Kolkata barely takes 2 to 2.30 hrs by any car,
so traveling is not the matter. Now the fact is when?
We would definitely not suggest anybody travel to Sundarban
between the end of March to end of September. As Sundarban is adjacent to the Bay of
Bengal, tourists can experience heavy rainfall in the monsoon season (July to
September) including thunderstorms and lightning. During the monsoon, all rivers
swell up and flow above the danger mark causing a flood-like situation. We
would never recommend any tourists to have a Sundarban Tour during this period.
You can experience scorching heat and humid between the end of
March to the end of July which is basically the summer period. All of a sudden sou'wester or locally known
“Kal Baisakhi” may appear from mid-April to mid of May. This period of time
is very dangerous to travel among the rivers of Sundarban.
However, the best time to spend your holiday in Sunderban is
the winter. (End of October to end of
March). During this period, the weather is very pleasant and ideal for traveling
between the various islands, river creeks, and mangrove forests in Sundarban. You
don’t have to worry of any storm or rainfall. With an average temperature
between 12oC to 20oC you can enjoy the amazing beauty of
this world heritage site to your full extent. Traveling in a foggy winter through
narrow creeks and rivers in the Sundarban mangrove forest is thrilling to experience.
The serenity and tranquillity of the forest with its enchanting beauty during
this period are awesome.
Denzong Leisure, an ISO 9001:2008 Certified Tours & Travel operator from Kolkata organizes various Sundarban Fixed Departures / Sundarban Group Departures on regular basis during this period of time.
